Ever since I came to college, I have clipped coupons. I would scan through the newspaper inserts, clip what I already buy, and just have the cashier scan them at the grocery store. This would save me about $10-$20 at the end, but my grocery bills were still around $100. (I HATE grocery shopping, so these trips could last me at least 3 weeks.)
- - - Allow me to take the opportunity to express that I HATE shopping. HATE it. Grocery shopping is the WORST to me. Couponing has helped me look forward to the dreaded trip, however. (If only my favorite clothing stores would offer more coupons... maybe then I would enjoy clothes shopping, too!) Anyway...
Lately, however, I have realized that the following encompass the "art" of couponing...
1. Clipping ALL coupons... even if you really love Secret deodorant and the coupon is for Dove.
2. Holding onto the coupon and use it when the item is on sale!
3. Staying on the lookout for sales! Kroger, MY grocery store, doesn't always have things the cheapest. If I have to make an extra stop to CVS to get the best deal, sure it's annoying (again, I hate shopping), but when I look at my receipt I want to do it all over again. :)
